Premium paywall UI screens designed for a powerful AI research assistant.
Helium is an AI research assistant that helps people find, analyse, and pull together information faster. Its power users already loved the product — the brief was to add monetisation without spending the trust that had been built.
The paywall needed to signal premium value without breaking the research flow, converting users without leaning on the manipulative growth tactics this audience would see through immediately.
What went into it
A dark, premium aesthetic
The paywall system stays inside Helium's existing dark, focused identity, so upgrading feels like part of the product instead of a marketing detour.
Contextual, not punitive
Feature-gated prompts appear at moments of real value rather than as hard walls that pull people out of what they're doing.
An onboarding upgrade path
A separate, clean flow lets people opt into Pro early, while they're still in setup mode and open to deciding how they'll use the product.
